New officers hired by the Columbus Police Department are eligible for the Military Incentive of $1,200.00. Newly hired officers will be paid this incentive in three equal installments of $400 as follows:
Officers must have honorable military service of at least four years; be employed for six months and having completed all State Mandated POST Requirements for Basic Peace Officer Certification will receive their first $400 installment. Thereafter, the officer will receive their remaining two installments of $400 each every six months, provided they are meeting the minimum standards of the department.
