New officers hired by the Columbus Police Department who are Georgia POST Certified Peace Officers will be eligible for the POST Certification Incentive. This incentive will be paid in three installments of $800 (once annually) over a three-year period for a total of $2,400.00. Any officer having been previously employed by the department who is rehired will have a one-year waiting period before being eligible for the POST Certification Incentive.
